Fort Youth Tackle Football was established in 1984 for youths in the
5th thru 8th graders in the City of Fort Atkinson. In 1998 we brought
the 4th graders into the league and established an 8th grade traveling
team. This allowed for a more equally sized distribution among the
players. Then in 2007, we opened enrollment to include 3rd graders as
well. Teams in the 3rd thru 7th grade are formed based on all coaches'
input of each players abilities with the goal of equalized teams. A
draft is held in which each player in the 3rd through 8th grade will be
placed on a team. If 8th grade enrollment exceeds 38 players, then two
equal teams will be formed.
The main purpose of the FYTF is to
provide 3rd through 8th grade youth residing with in the Fort Atkinson
School District and the surrounding area the opportunity to participate
in the sport of football. undefined undefined
The emphasis of
the program is to instruct all members in the proper techniques of
football and teachsportsmanship. Teamwork, commitment and fair play
shall be required at all times from all directors, coaches, players,
and fans. Winning is not the emphasis, but rather the development of
the players. All participants play regardless of ability.
| The goal of this program is to teach, develop, promote and regulate the sport of tackle football for all players and to provide a program which is a positive experience for all members. The character built from participation in Fort Youth Tackle Football shall always be a primary goal. The program will encourage a spirit of competition and provide each participant the opportunity to develop the attributes of good sportsmanship, fun, and the camaraderie associated with playing organized sport of football. Additional qualities a player will learn are leadership, teamwork, discipline, quickness of mind, physical well being, moral as well as physical courage and the knowledge that dedicated hard work and perseverance can often compensate for limited natural ability. Participating will also instill in the athlete proper competitive spirit and desire to perform to their potential, an outcome which benefits both the player and the team.
Finally we strive to make it FUN for all participants. Our goal is to have them back the next year, and hopefully develop and continue to play in their High School Years.
